In the Shadow of No Towers
by Art Spiegelman

Bind: Hardback
Price: $19.95
Age: Adult

Pulitzer Prize-winner Spiegelman presents a deeply personal, politically charged, and graphically emotionally stunning account of the events and aftermath of September 11, 2001. In a large, 2-page spread format, he relates his experience of the national tragedy in drawings and text that convey - with his singular artistry and his characteristic provocation, outrage, and wit - the unfathomable enormity of the event itself, the obvious and insidious effects it had on his life, and the extraordinary, often hidden changes that have been enacted in the name of post-9/11 national security and that have begun to undermine the very foundation of American democracy. He also shares a small folio of classic Sunday comics pages from the early years that resonate eerily today. This is his first new graphic novel since Maus. For mature readers.

by Marjane Satrapi

Bind: Hardback
Price: $17.95

Feeling out of place, with no support group to help her, she starts to hang out with the wrong crowd, deals drugs, and ends up homeless on the streets. Forced to return home to Iran, Satrapi has to adjust to living with the constraints placed upon everyone by the government and enforced by the religious police. The first volume has appeared on several top graphic novel lists, including Time.com’s Top 25 of the year, and also on the Best Books for Young Adults list from the Young Adult Library Services Association, a division of the American Library Association. In this story, the elves have lost their Troll smiths, who had always forged their weapons and tools. Now Treestump decides it’s high time an elf mastered the art of metallurgy, something the Wolfriders have never before attempted.
